Happy Medium is seeking a senior media planner/ manager to serve as our in-house subject matter expert for all-things audience targeting, media buying, specifically digital and traditional strategy. The senior media planner/manager research, plans,  manages and measures client media plans across a mix of marketing channels to make sure we’re running the most effective campaigns while maximizing our clients’ reach and budget. 


As a media buyer and planner contractor at Happy Medium, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Strategy, Planning & Client Communication
    • The continuous audience, industry, and channel research to scale and boost the impact of
      media plans
    • Develop fully-integrated digital and traditional media plans for clients and deliver monthly media planning calendars and budget sheets  
    • Partner with the Client Success team to manage media needs for new/incoming and existing clients
    • Maintain regular communication with the Client Success team and clients to strategically inform current and future client work 
    • Assist in the development of client proposals and media briefs while helping define success metrics 
  • Media Buying Oversight and partner coordination
    • Lead oversight of local and national media buys, including trafficking, avails and estimates for traditional media campaigns, while maintaining deep relationships with all appropriate third-party reps
    • End-to-end oversight of campaigns through creation to completion
    • Evaluate current media inventory sources and activate placements with vendors on the correct channel such as digital, social, search, programmatic and traditional platforms
    • Coordinate with each of our media implementation partners to ensure cohesion across a campaign
  • Reporting, Analysis & Optimization
    • On-going analysis with strategic recommendations to optimize campaigns that deliver against advertising goals
    • Provide regular (bi-monthly, monthly, quarterly and annual) client reports to inform tactical planning, execution and optimization
    • Leverage insights to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and day-to-day performance
    • Assist in monthly invoice reconciliation by maintaining accurate client budgets and comparing against ad spend
    • Monitor day-to-day advertising performance 


  • 3-5 years’ experience in a media planning/coordination role focused on digital and traditional
    marketing platforms
  • Deep understanding of campaign and channel management
  • Strong detail orientation with good organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to plan, implement and share recommendations —  with the new partners and clients
  • Critical thinking with the ability to understand and evaluate all relevant data and financial/budget needs to optimize when necessary
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, willingness to ask questions and have a thirst for knowledge
  • Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects in a timely manner 
  • Client management and agency experience a plus
