Job Description

Happy Medium is seeking a media buyer to identify the best mix of media channels to deliver an advertising message to a clients’ target audience. Using research data, they consider what is going to be the most effective within the budget allocated and give the client’s product or service maximum exposure. 

Position Summary

As a Media Planner/Buyer at Happy Medium, you will be responsible for the following:

Media Planning:

  • Propose, plan and implement holistic media plans
  • Assist in updating all media planning calendars
  • Maintain client advertising budget spreadsheets
  • Identify and recommend advertising opportunities for current clients
  • Research and learn new digital advertising methods and platforms including keeping up to date on social media, search and programmatic advertising
  • Manage strategy and direction of all new/incoming agency digital media clients including working on all digital proposals

Media Buying:

  • Plan and place all media, traditional and digital, across all agency clients
  • Assist in trafficking out all traditional media campaigns
  • Assist in quarterly and yearly avails process
  • Make and maintain good contacts with reps across all markets
  • Manage the implementation of SEM accounts and oversee their day to day optimization

Media Reporting, Analysis and Optimization:

  • Prepare and manage weekly and monthly client reporting
  • Assist in monthly invoice reconciliation
  • Analyze client data to ensure ad campaigns are optimized for optimal performance
  • Monitor day to day advertising performance
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns in order to inform future campaigns

Desired Skills

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a media buying role 
  • Client management and agency experience a plus 
  • Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in media
  • Certified or willing to get certified in Google Analytics and Google AdWords
  • Strong detail orientation with good organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to implement on extremely tight deadlines
  • Critical thinking with the ability to understand and evaluate all relevant data and troubleshoot when necessary
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, willingness to ask questions and have a thirst for knowledge
  • Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects in a timely manner
